Hello Comfort with Cancer Supporters,

Since my last update in February, I have improved the Comfort with Cancer gift by purchasing hydro flasks and gift bags (photo attached). Each gift bag contains - the Everyday Strength book, Comfort with Cancer story, roll up blanket, hydro flask and business card. The seniors in my high school program formed an assembly line and filled 200 gift bags for me. The gift bags have made it much easier and more convenient to distribute and receive the items.

Gift bags were delivered to four local oncology clinics and one breast cancer support center and some are going to the UCSD Moore's Cancer Center next week. I also mailed a couple gift bags to cancer patients in Utah (one to my niece's friend and one to Tyler's summer ball host mother's cousin). If you would like a gift bag mailed to a loved one, please send me their name and complete address.

I have fulfilled personal requests via the Comfort with Cancer website and have sent wedge pillows, shower chairs, headphones and essential oil diffusers to cancer patients in hopes that it will provide them comfort during their healing process.

Please consider sharing the Comfort with Cancer website and the Go Fund Me Page on social media so that the campaign keeps trending and we can reach more people battling this disease:

Hello Comfort with Cancer Supporters,

Since the purchase of 500 Everyday Strength books and customized Comfort with Cancer blankets, I have been busy preparing the items for distribution and finding the means to distribute them. I wrote up an information page ( https://tinyurl.com/comfort-w-cancer-letter), printed 500 copies and stapled one to the inside cover of the each book.

I distributed 75 books and blankets to three local cancer support facilities: Michelle’s Place (a breast cancer resource center), Vantage Radiation/Oncology Center and Temecula Valley Radiation/Oncology Center. I have also given some to my coworkers and students to provide to their loved ones who are battling cancer.

In January (photo attached), my daughter, Devyn, and I handed nearly 100 books and blankets to patients receiving treatment at UCSD Moores Cancer Center’s Oncology Room and waiting room. We also left 100 books and blankets with the Cancer Resource Room to be given to other patients.

So far, Comfort with Cancer has fulfilled six special requests for other items – 3 wedge pillows, 1 essential oils diffuser, 1 headphones and 1 bedside table. These items were delivered by Amazon to their homes - all courtesy of Comfort with Cancer! My hope is that many more people will request comfort items!

Recently Jordan Brady, graphic designer, voluntarily created the Comfort with Cancer website ( https://www.comfortwithcancer.com) and designed my business card. Thank you to Jordan for donating her time and talent. Hopefully the website and the business card will help Comfort with Cancer continue to trend and reach more people who are fighting the disease.

Post From December

Hello Comfort with Cancer supporters,

Five hundred of Tom's favorite book ("Everyday Strength - A Cancer Patient's Guide to Spiritual Survival") and 500 roll up blankets with our logo arrived this week! I will be distributing these blankets and books to cancer patients this month.

Stapled to the inside of the book will be the Comfort with Cancer "story" and a link to an online form where cancer patients can request one of the following items to be sent to them: adjustable bedside table with wheels, neck pillow, noise cancelling headphones, wedge pillow, adjustable shower bench, essential oils diffuser or a heating pad wrap. These are some of the items that helped make Tom more comfortable during his battle with cancer and I hope they will comfort others too. Also included inside the book will be the link to this Go Fund Me page. My hope is that this campaign will keep trending so that I can provide some comfort to people with cancer for years to come.

Thank you,
Carol
